Founder Story — Westbourne Style

Our Founder Forram Baraiya Born and raised in West India, her journey is one shaped by love, movement, and reinvention. She fell in love with someone from West Romania, and together their path eventually brought her to West London—a city she now calls home. When she set out to create her brand, she wanted a name that held all the pieces of her identity: her roots, her journey, and the feeling of belonging as an immigrant. This is how WESTBOURNE was born—an homage to every place and every “West” that shaped her story.Coming from a science background, she never imagined her path would lead to fashion. But passion has a way of finding you twice, and fashion always pulled her back. She studied Fashion Styling at FIT and completed her degree in International Marketing, blending creativity and strategy to build something uniquely her own.Her first capsule collection introduces a piece close to her heart: a modern interpretation of the Indian dupatta—a garment many mistake today as just a scarf. In her eyes, it’s more than fabric; it’s culture, elegance, history, identity. And so she created the Dupatta Dress, a signature WESTBOURNE silhouette that honours where she comes from and the world she now lives in. It embodies the perfect balance of heritage and modernity—a celebration of her cross-cultural journey. This collection marks the beginning of WESTBOURNE: a brand built from love, migration, and the courage to redefine your own path.Show some love—we would be honoured to hear your thoughts and be part of your story, too.
